彩塘村又称蔡塘，位于潮汕公路中段东侧，是彩塘镇政府所在的村。村东有溪港环绕，村名取其形如彩带之意。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

南宋时已有蔡塘之名。解放后，村一度改称棋洋塘乡，其后又先后作为村、生产大队和管理区存在；1999年起定为彩塘村民委员会。[1]

经济[edit]

村内耕地584亩，以水稻和蔬菜为主，工业以不锈钢日用品、钟表和五金为主，是镇内农副产品和手工业品的集散地。[1]

2021年12月，村获评「2021年广东省卫生村」。[1] 2021年和2022年，村先后入选阿里研究院公布的淘宝村名单。[1]
