玉湖村是广东省潮州市潮安区沙溪镇下辖的行政村，以蔡姓为主，位于镇的西北部，距镇治8里。村子东接生聚村，南连仁里村，西邻程畔村的塘畔，北与浮洋镇井里村隔溪相望。[1][2]
村子取名「玉湖」，由明代迁来的蔡氏兄弟所创。锡页加工是村中的主要副业。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
据村情所载，明朝中期（公元1565—1580年），莆田后沟村的蔡氏兄弟来此创乡，取名玉湖。建国前，村子属东莆区高厦乡；建国后归潮安第七区、第十区。[2]
1961年以后，村子并入程畔大队；1964年又分出，立为玉湖大队，归沙溪公社。1983年成为玉湖乡，1987年才称玉湖村。[2]
地理与经济[edit]
村中耕地450亩，山地150亩，池塘26亩；住168户，共905人。地势低洼，雨天常积水成涝，水利灌溉靠自流。以农业为主，作物主要有水稻、地瓜、花生和红黄麻。[2]
村中的南金锡页是传统工艺，全村有加工场30余间，多数劳力都做锡页，货品远销东南亚。1985年统计显示，锡页加工的纯收入约占全村总收入的七成。[2]
村子的旅外侨胞较多，共33户、226人，分布在马来西亚、新加坡和香港一带。[2]
荣誉[edit]
2026年3月，村子被认定为「广东省第三批百千万工程典型村镇」。[1]
