历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，村中刘姓的始祖为尧帝之第九子源明公。元朝末年（公元1365年），玉川公自莆田娥眉乡狮头巷来到桑浦山下，落居在太行乡（即今刘畔村所在）。当时该乡已有宋、林、郑三姓。[2]
刘斐是第七代孙，号木亭，明弘治十二年中进士，初授太中大夫，后授江西布政司参政。他在家乡建家庙、修桥造路，声望甚高，乡里因此有「刘畔」之名。[2]
抗战前，村子与贾里、高厦、仁里并为和平乡，属东莆区；抗战后则归东莆乡，编为第17保。建国后同贾里联为一乡，名联和乡，归第七区。1958年另立刘畔大队，归金石公社；1961年以后改属沙溪公社、沙溪区，后归沙溪镇。[2]
地理与经济[edit]
村子地处平原，土地肥沃，村民以农业为主，是本镇产粮区之一。村域约1平方公里，耕地873亩，山地450亩，池塘与溪涧52亩；住304户，共1453人。山地主产杂果、林木和茶叶。[2]
古建筑[edit]
刘氏家庙为两进的格局，纵深23．4米，横宽12．2米。建筑带三个门、四面墙，门前设石鼓狮两只；内有「天庭赐恩」「思成堂」「文魁」「进士」等匾额，共八块。[2]
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月，村子列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单；2021年12月，获广东省爱卫会授予「2021年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
