下西林村是广东省潮州市潮安区沙溪镇下辖的行政村，在镇的东部，距镇政府约4里。村子东面与金石镇塔下村相邻，南傍桑浦山的东山（塔下山），北连上西林村，西边是沙溪一村。[1][2]
村中以孙姓为多。村子以出产果蔗而享有盛名，果蔗畅销潮阳一带。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，村中孙氏的先人于南宋时（公元1128—1142年）从福建莆田月潭村迁到上西林定居。到明初（公元1360—1370年）时，一部分人往村南另建新村，因此分为上、下西林。[2]
建国后至1961年，村子先后归潮安第七区、第十区、金石区和金石公社管辖。1961年至1975年间与内池村合并为下西林大队，1975年与内池分开，另立洋东大队；1983年改为下西林乡，1987年改称下西林村。1999年改为下西林村民委员会。[1][2]
地理与经济[edit]
村子地势平坦，灌溉方便，以农业为主。水稻、花生、生柑、果蔗、育柑苗都有种植，工副业以抽纱和毛织加工为主。耕地696亩，山地300亩，全村1880人，住397户。[1][2]
荣誉[edit]
2020年9月、2021年10月和2022年10月，下西林村先后列入「2020年淘宝村」「2021年淘宝村」「2022年淘宝村」名单。[1]
