翁厝村又名沙池翁，是潮安区金石镇下辖的单姓行政村，全村翁姓，北侧毗邻金石集镇。始祖翁苑人在明洪武年间（1368年至1398年）自澄海蓬州迁来定居。村中有一个十余亩宽的沙质池塘，故又称沙池塘。[1][2]
花木与技艺[edit]
村中栽培花木的传统延续了四百多年。明代万历年间，有村人把一种名花移回家中培植，四邻随后相继移植，此后全村家家多以种花为业，有「花村」之称。村中还曾举行「迎春赛花会」，吸引远近花木爱好者前来。[2]
寿榆分身法是村中独创的技艺，在国内外有一定名声，翁氏园丁的足迹遍及世界各地。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
1974年分队，以村名命名「翁厝大队」。1999年改称村民委员会，因村委会设于翁厝村，故以「翁厝村民委员会」命名，此名沿用至今。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月，翁厝村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。2021年9月，翁厝村列入广东省农业农村厅公布的「第二批广东省一村一品、一镇一业专业村」名单，为花卉苗木专业村。2021年10月，翁厝村列入「2021年淘宝村」名单。2022年10月，翁厝村列入「2022年淘宝村」名单。2024年4月，翁厝村入选「广东省第一批乡村振兴示范村」创建名单。[1]
