历史沿革[edit]
石鼓村建于南宋末年，始祖林岩泉自福建莆田德安乡石狮巷石鼓村迁来创立村落，村名取自原籍。沟头村俗称沟头杨，同样始建于南宋末，因屋前有一条大水沟而取名沟头。[1][2]
1956年定社名为远光，取建社意义深远、前途光明之意，此名沿用为村名。1958年建队称远光大队，1999年改为村民委员会。[1][2]
经济与文化[edit]
村域为韩江冲积土，历来以农业为主，种植水稻、甘蔗、花生、小麦和生柑等作物。近年东山湖远光林场实行封山育林、发展商品生产，产值大增。[2]
乡村工业随改革开放兴起，纸类厂、胶丝厂、塑料厂与农副产品加工厂相继设立，村办企业的收入逐年增加。[2]
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月，远光村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。2020年9月，阿里研究院公布的「2020年淘宝村」名单中有远光村。2021年10月，远光村出现在「2021年淘宝村」名单里，该名单由阿里研究院与南京大学空间规划研究中心一同发布。2021年12月，广东省爱卫会授予远光村「2021年广东省卫生村」称号。2022年10月，远光村列入「2022年淘宝村」名单。[1]
