历史沿革[edit]
村子古称院上乡。相传宋末元初，蔡、曾、刘等姓氏的居民最先在此落户；1914年以前，村子属海阳县隆津都。[1][2]
地理与人口[edit]
村内人口5033人，总面积2.5平方千米。潮汕公路在村西约一公里处通过；村子东面临龙湖，西面连浮洋大吴，北面靠湖边村，南面接鹳巢。[1]
侨乡[edit]
侨胞主要分布在新加坡、马来西亚、泰国和印度尼西亚等国，其中新加坡最多，达3724人，多在海外从事商业。[1]
马来西亚实业家吴静娟出资153万元，为村里建起庆贵小学与庆贵幼儿园；旅居香港的侨胞吴添松出资90万港元，建成庆兰亭与庆兰敬老院。[2]
产业[edit]
村有耕地1600亩，作物有水稻、小麦、甘茨、花生、潮州柑与黄麻，同时饲养猪、鱼与三鸟。工副业涵盖陶瓷、抽纱、服装、珠绣与玻璃加工。[2]
较大的企业包括爱群玻璃厂、立新玻璃厂，以及飞达工艺彩瓷厂和银湖工艺瓷厂。[2]
教育与文化[edit]
银湖幼儿园创办于1958年，1983年被评为「全国三八红旗集体」。[2]
银湖业余潮剧团在潮汕艺坛颇为活跃，活动时间跨越解放初至八十年代初。吴思吾为该团编写剧本、担任导演。[2]
荣誉[edit]
2020年9月、2021年10月和2022年10月，银湖村先后入选淘宝村名单。[1]
2026年3月，银湖村被认定为「广东省第三批“百千万工程”典型村镇」。[1]
