后郭村位于镇政府西北约3.2公里处，南与银湖村相邻，东与湖边村相接，总面积约1.8平方千米，人口1953人。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
元代有人来此建村，其祖先迁自庵埠郭陇村，村名由此称后郭。[1]
1966年设后郭村革命委员会，1976年复称后郭大队，1999年定名后郭村民委员会，至今沿用。[1]
人口与经济[edit]
耕地700亩，旅居海外的侨胞约400人。作物有水稻、潮州柑、甘茨、花生与黄麻；养殖则以猪、鱼、三鸟为多。[1]
工副业包括抽纱、珠绣与木雕，传统木雕在海内外有名气。2005年，村中工农业收入共750万元。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2026年1月，后郭村获评「广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村」称号。[1]
