1958年公社化时定名「市尾大队」；1984年，以本村为名设立市尾乡；1999年起称市尾村民委员会，至今未变。[1]
经济[edit]
2005年，全村工农业总产值为2300万元。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月，市尾村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；2026年1月，获评「广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村」称号。[1]
