世田村是登塘镇下辖的行政村，位于群山峡谷之中，东接黄潭村，北邻大葫芦、小葫芦两村。[1][2][3]
村子原名张四田。明嘉靖四十年（1561年），张四在此开垦田园，村名因此而来；民国时期，因「四」与「世」同音，改为今名。[2][3]
历史沿革[edit]
村内有上村、下村两个自然村。蓝姓从梅县大埔迁来，陈姓来自本地山猪坑，赖姓从兴宁五华迁入。三姓建村的年代各不相同，都在明清两代之间。[2]
1958年公社化期间建队，队名为世田大队；1999年改设世田村民委员会。[1]
人口与经济[edit]
全村737人（2006年12月数据）。耕地266亩，山地17314亩，以杉木、松柏和竹为主。果树以柿、梅、橄榄为主，村子曾以「世田柿」闻名。[2]
村里有潮州市世田电厂的一级发电站，境内矿产有锡精矿、独居石、钨矿和水晶等。[2]
文化[edit]
1929年，革命家古大存在此领导农民赤卫队活动。村内留有红十一军烈士纪念碑和军部旧址，并设有红色展览馆。[3]
2019年12月，世田村被列入第一批「国家森林乡村」名单；2023年5月，获广东省爱卫会授予的「2022年广东省卫生村」称号；2024年4月，入选「广东省第一批乡村振兴示范村」创建名单。[1][3]
