历史沿革[edit]
村落形成于明代中叶，那时此地已有詹、张、陈等姓人家，后来澄海东陇的刘氏与饶平凤凰的林氏陆续迁入。[1]
村名的来由是：村旁两条深坑对生产生活用水无益，故称嫌水坑。[1]
1987年设立嫌水坑村委会，1989年改设嫌水坑管理区，1999年恢复村委会名称。[2]
人口民族[edit]
山地3000亩，耕地1090亩；人口1156人（百度百科，未注统计年份）。[1]
文化[edit]
村子是革命老苏区，李梨英这位革命母亲曾在此组织革命活动。[1]
2019年9月，村庄入选「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[2]
