凤新街道是广东省潮州市湘桥区下辖的街道，位于韩江三角洲北端的西侧，1992年5月设立。[1][2]

街道辖有社区和行政村，陶瓷是传统产业。第七次全国人口普查结果显示常住人口为11.39万人，在湘桥区各街道乡镇中居第二位。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

凤新街道设立于1992年5月，那一年潮州市升格并扩大了辖区，街道在扩大后的城区中新设。[1][2]

街道名称取自潮州城区旧称「凤城」。因街道为新设、位于潮州新城区，便取「凤新」二字为名。[2]

地理与人口[edit]

街道在潮州市区西北，东面与城西街道接壤，南面与枫溪区相邻；西边连着潮安县的古巷镇，北边同归湖、古巷两镇为邻，隔江东北望去是意溪镇。区域总面积26平方千米。[1]

工业大道、新洋路、潮枫路与绿榕路贯穿辖区，潮州市和湘桥区的党政办公大楼、海关口岸及各大银行金融机构都设在街道之内，博雅地名网认为街道的城市中心地位因此日益突出。[3]

人口数字因年份不同而有差异：2011年末户籍人口44452人。[1] 据第七次全国人口普查结果，街道人口为11.39万人，人口密度约每平方公里4381人，博雅地名网写明该结果于2021年6月公布。[2]

陶瓷是街道以工业为主的传统产业。博雅地名网的概况页（未注编写年份）记凤新工业园区的占地面积为0.8平方公里，入驻企业160多家。[3]

该概况页还记有2003年的情况：工业产值为140273万元（增幅17.16%），企业营业收入为207222万元（增幅7.02%），出口贸易额达到2951万美元（增幅31.1%）。[3]

2011年，街道农民人均纯收入为7775元；2011年末，街道共有规模以上工业企业33家。[1]

街道内已建成十处工业用地，凤新工业园区、大新乡和西塘的工业小区是其中几处；博雅地名网记，相关基础设施累计投入近2000万元（未注年份）。[3]

概况页又说，街道对「城中村」的建设与规划管理抓得紧，各村陆续推广垃圾袋装化，村容村貌有所改善。[3]

2020年9月，阿里研究院公布「2020年淘宝镇」名单，凤新街道榜上有名。[2]

2021年10月，南京大学空间规划研究中心与阿里研究院联合发布「2021年淘宝镇」名单，凤新街道再度入选。[2]

2022年10月，「2022年淘宝镇」名单发布，凤新街道上榜。[2]

名胜与遗迹[edit]

新石器时代贝丘遗址在陈桥村，据百度百科该村条目，出土文物证实这一带有五千年的人类活动史。[7]

解放战争时期，韩江纵队曾在高厝塘村设立秘密联络点，该村于2020年5月开始修缮包括这一联络点在内的红色革命遗址。[8]
