厦寺社区位于潮州市湘桥区城西街道，属主城区。1960年设立厦寺居委，当时归南春街道办事处管辖；1990年改由城西街道管辖；2002年更名为厦寺社区居民委员会。2019年9月，社区上榜「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
