社光村属于湘桥区桥东街道管辖，地处笔架山南面，东边与卧石村相接，西面抵达北溪路。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

社光村村委会于1987年1月设立，1989年12月改设社光管理区委员会，1999年5月1日起复为村民委员会，至今沿用。[1]

荣誉[edit]

村庄获得的荣誉，按时间先后排列：2020年12月，社光村列入「2020年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；社光村于2021年8月被国家卫生健康委老龄司列为「2021年全国示范性老年友好型社区」；同年9月认定为「第二批全国乡村治理示范村」；2021年10月和2022年10月两度上榜「淘宝村」名单，前一次由南京大学空间规划研究中心与阿里研究院联合发布；2022年8月，农业农村部推介为「2022年中国美丽休闲乡村」（农家乐特色村）；2024年4月入选「广东省第一批乡村振兴示范村」创建名单；2024年11月确定为「2024年广东省美丽庭院特色村」；2025年3月命名为「第七届全国文明村镇」。[1]

经济与文化[edit]

村民以种植蔬菜为主，村里建有共享农场和美食街。村集体经济在2021年的收入是555.32万元。[2]

村域内有文阁公宗祠，已有一百多年历史。[2]2026年，村庄成为全国「四季村晚」示范展示点之一，同年9月，全国秋季「村晚」示范展演活动在村中举行。[2]
