利生社区位于大利围与大生围之间，两围各取一字，故称利生。社区居委会驻地也在此处。2022年11月，社区被认定为「2022年度第二批中山市绿色社区」；2019年9月，社区上榜「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1959年，此地属坦背大队；1961年另设利生大队，隶属港口区沙朗公社。1967年，利生大队又并回坦背大队。[1]
1986年设利生村委会，1999年改属东升镇。2001年，利生村、观栏村与坦背居委会合并，组成利生社区居民委员会。其后，坦背居委会中全部为居民户口的部分被划出，另设东城居委会，便于管理。2021年6月，据博雅地名网所载，社区并入小榄镇。[1]
