埒西一社区在小榄镇西部，离镇政府约4公里，面积约3.80平方公里。北面连着永宁社区，南面接壤联丰社区，东面与九洲基社区为邻，南面隔拱北河与古镇镇相望。辖内设9个居民小区，外来流动人口约3万。[1]

小榄西水道流经社区，旧称横琴海或云步海。区内主要的河流有横琴河（长2000米）和东部排水渠（长1500米）。社区名称来自居委会的驻地。2022年9月，社区被认定为「2022年度第一批中山市绿色社区」。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

宋代此地已淤积成沙。明洪武二十八年（1395年）这里作为军屯田使用。永乐年间到洪熙年间（1403～1425年），小榄李、麦两姓人迁来置业，逐渐形成村落。[1]

1923年此地称五埒乡。后来这里划出的大队，依次有联胜、吉安、乐丰、广丰与联安，其中联安与广丰于1963年合为埒西一大队。1998年的村委会，是此后的一次改制。[1]
