在这4.6平方公里的辖区里，约4100亩土地已被开发利用，留作工商业的用地有1800亩左右，耕地不足500亩（约478亩）。社区内有3个物业小区，设有3所市一级小学和3所幼儿园。[1]
名称来历：此地原是西江、北江泥沙淤积成的沙洲，在周边低洼的水网中地势相对较高，故称高沙。2026年1月，社区获评「广东省第二批百千万工程典型村」；2021年12月，被认定为「2021年度中山市绿色社区」。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
建国初年此地称高沙乡，先属中山县第三区，后划入小榄区与永宁区。1957年改为高沙村，1958年成立高沙生产营，隶属五埒一带的耕作区。[1]
1959年，此地一分为二，设高沙一、高沙二两个大队，其中高沙二即后来的同乐片。[1]
1986年改设高沙村委会，划归东升镇。1998年村委会得以重设，2001年11月起改组为社区居委会；2021年6月并入小榄镇，据博雅地名网所载。[1]
