九洲基社区在小榄镇南部偏西一带，有6.29平方公里土地，离镇政府约3.8公里。绩西与新市两社区的部分地段在它的东边相接，南面是盛丰与联丰社区，西面连着埒西一社区，北面以一涌之隔与永宁社区相望。菊城大道、联丰路、九洲路穿过村中，区内河涌纵横。[1]
社区名称源于居委会设在九洲基。2022年9月，社区被认定为「2022年度第一批中山市绿色社区」。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
社区的前身是1987年设立的九洲基村委会，其后一度改为管理区。1998年恢复村民自治，管理区撤销，保留村委会；2001年调整行政区域后重新设立村委会。到2004年，此处改为居委会。[1]
