绩西社区位于小榄镇城区南面，处在新南区的中心，离镇政府约3公里。辖区面积约5.39平方公里，地形形似芭蕉叶，呈狭长的三角形。社区里有18个村民小组，户籍人口超过1万，流动人口逾2.6万。[1]
社区名称的来历，是民间相传一位妇人靠织麻维生，后在此置下产业，人称绩麻沙；居委会设在绩西，于是取名绩西。2022年9月，社区被认定为「2022年度第一批中山市绿色社区」。[1]
