绩东一社区在小榄镇东南部，离镇政府约4.55公里，离中山市城区约16公里。辖区面积约3.9平方公里，地势平坦，河涌纵横，其中婆陇涌、横海涌等11条河道承担排灌和运输。居民中户籍人口约1.38万，另有流动人口约2.8万。[1]
社区的名字来自居委会所在的绩东一。2026年3月，它被认定为「广东省第三批百千万工程典型村镇」；2022年9月，又被认定为「2022年度第一批中山市绿色社区」。司法部与民政部还命名它为「第九批全国民主法治示范村（社区）」。[1]
