历史沿革[edit]
唐代，汪、林两姓人先在鸡蒂山下的村后落户，那里称作茅湾外铺，后迁至现址。[2]
人口民族[edit]
外来人口约6000人，常住人口为680人，统计年份未注明。[1]
经济[edit]
2012年，村集体总收入456万元。1999年，村庄被评为市卫生村；2006年，村里推行股份制，全体村民参加社会保险。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
山脚下的“五眼井”又名冷泉，泉水冷冽，炎夏也寒意逼人。村中心有清代铺设的石板街，长约500米；柳家祠建于清朝末年。2012年，茅湾冷泉、石板街和柳家祠一并列入中山市不可移动文物。[1]
文化[edit]
村里自来水普及率达到100%，建有一个幼儿园，有师生约100人。[1]
