卫民村位于阜沙镇西部，村民委员会驻七姓祠河东侧、阜公路北。村名取自一位在抗日战争中牺牲的中共党员。[1]
地理[edit]
村地处牛角（永胜）围西北部，地形为平原，灌溉依靠潮汐自流。村境东面和东南面与牛角村相接，南、西、北三面隔河，与东凤镇的东罟、西罟、吉昌遥遥相对。村委会与镇政府相距约3.5公里。[1]
全村总面积2.4平方公里，耕地2573亩，现辖15个生产队。村内原有西河、七姓祠河、地字河三个片区，各为一个自然村。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1825年，顺德县人迁来此处筑围建村。1949年前，此地属牛角乡二十六保，所辖各村是中山的抗日根据地。[1]
1950年改称卫民乡，以纪念在此抗日牺牲的中共党员谭卫民烈士。其后先后为卫民乡、卫民区和卫民经济联社。1961年分设牛一大队，1962年改称卫民大队，1986年12月改称卫民村委会。[1]

2022年10月，卫民村入选2022年「淘宝村」名单。[1]
