将军社区位于南头镇中心区，西北与北面的民安社区相接，南与滘心、北帝两个社区为邻，距佛山市顺德区约5公里，距中山市府驻地约32公里。社区由原将军村与原华光村于2001年合并组成新的将军村，2010年转制为社区居民委员会。[1][2][3]

地名由来[edit]

旧时村民供奉古代名将周仓，建有一座将军庙，将军村的名字由此而来。[2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

1953年此地为联合小乡，四年后改为联合村。1986年起称将军村委会，1990年一度改为将军管理区，1995年又恢复村委会，直到2010年才改为社区居民委员会。2001年辖区调整，原将军村与原华光村合并为新的将军村。[2][3]

社区是有革命传统的老区村。百度百科称1945年的「四一二」革命斗争发生在六百六村，由梁伯雄的游击大队在此抵抗敌军；博雅地名网的村情页则说「四一二」战斗发生在本村。两说地点不同，本条目按两处各自所述记录，未作取舍。[1][3]

地理与人口[edit]

社区下辖3个片区，设20个居民小组。博雅地名网记常住8241人、共2175户，农业人口7871人，非农业的370人，另有约2万外来务工人员。百度百科则称辖区约7400亩，有28个居民小组，户籍约1.1万，外来务工者约4万，并列出合胜村、六百六村等6个自然村。两处数字均未注年份。[1][3]

经济[edit]

社区依托广珠西线高速、广珠城轨南头站及升辉北工业区等交通与产业条件，集聚了奥马电器、冈山钢业等企业，并开发了明日豪庭等商住小区。[1][3]

自2010年起，社区每年靠出租物业获得集体收入460万元，另有经营收入152万元。居民小组另外出租土地380亩。华南家电城于2009年9月开始拆迁，2012年6月全面完成，它是按「优二进三」思路建设的省重点项目。[3]

文化[edit]

2026年1月，社区被评为广东省第二批百千万工程典型村；百度百科另记，社区于2023年进入中山市首批典型村之列，两者批次不同，本条目分别注明来源。2021年12月，社区取得中山市绿色社区认定，为2021年度。2019年9月，社区列入2018年度广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建名单。据百度百科，2022年社区集体固定资产超过9000万元，并获中山市「五好」模范党支部、美丽宜居示范村等称号。[1][2][3]
