北帝社区位于南头镇中心区，地处珠江三角洲中下游的水网地带。社区于2010年2月由北帝村转制而成，设有12个居民小组及一个居民户小组。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

早年村民多以种植和江河捕鱼为生。清代道光年间，当地人在村中建起北帝庙，以求风调雨顺，此村因庙而被定名为北帝。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

1952年后此地称北帝乡。1954年，北帝、孖沙、穗西三村合并，称结合社；博雅地名网的穗西社区页则记1954年为三村分设，两页说法不同，本条目不作取舍。[2][4]

1959年孖沙析出后，北帝与穗西重新并为一个结合大队。1974年穗西又析出一支，另立北帝大队，同年再与穗西合并为结合大队。1976年此地称南头公社北帝农场；1979年设为管理区，1984年又恢复为村委会，直到2010年才转为社区居民委员会。[2][3]

社区总面积为2800亩，博雅地名网记户籍3535人，另有外来人口4512人。百度百科记总人口为3476人，两者年份均未注明。[1][2]

经济[edit]

据百度百科，社区党委带头拆除低效厂房，自建投资1亿元的高标准园区，预计年增收超1200万元。[1]

文化[edit]

中山市绿色社区（2021年度）的认定落在本社区，时间为2021年12月。2022年8月，社区被定为广东省民主法治示范村（社区）的创建对象之一；2023年4月，社区进入广东省乡村治理示范村的创建名单，名单为2022年度公布。[2]

公共设施[edit]

社区范围内设有南头初中、同乐小学，另有广济医院与敬老中心，南三公路东西横贯，连接京珠高速公路与105国道，太澳高速和广珠轻轨则南北贯穿全镇。[3]
