民安社区位于南头镇北部，西北与顺德区容桂镇相接，东南与黄圃镇大滘村相邻。社区由原民安村与原低沙村于2001年11月合并而成，2010年1月改设为社区居民委员会，下设30个居民小组。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

1955年，这里归南头乡管辖，内分团结、结合、联合三个小乡，民安属团结小乡。1958年8月起称民安大队，其后先后设过民安乡与民安区；1998年撤区后，此处成为村委会。2001年11月低沙村并入，至2010年1月才改为社区居委会。[2]

社区是中山市的革命老区，也是南头镇四个革命老区之一。1945年5月，九区大队驻地孖沙遭到进攻，大队领导梁伯雄在指挥战斗中牺牲，此后每年，镇政府与社区共同举办纪念活动，缅怀烈士。[3]

地理与人口[edit]

博雅地名网称辖区约10041亩，折合6.69平方公里，有常住居民8928人，外来人口达19896人。百度百科的数字为6.7平方千米、户籍约1万人、外来约2万人。两处数字均未注明年份。[1][2]

经济[edit]

自2000年前后起，社区以南头镇工业立镇为契机，引入企业70多家，出租厂房7万多平方米，年收入达1400万元以上。社区还在升辉北工业区和民安工业区内各建一座市场，分别占地24亩和43亩，形成两个中心商业区。[3]

文化[edit]

灯酒习俗是社区历史悠久的民俗活动，2009年纳入中山市非物质文化遗产。每年元宵前后，社区内的庙宇举办花灯酒会，以妙灵宫为主；2006年起，妙灵宫的花灯善款设立了扶困助学的慈善基金会。社区每年还组织二十多支队伍参加五人飞艇赛。[3]

2022年11月，社区获评第二批中山市绿色社区；2019年9月，社区又被列入2018年度广东省民主法治示范村（社区）的创建单位。[2]
