群众社区是广东省中山市港口镇下辖的社区，地处镇的中心位置。东面与群乐社区相邻，南面是民主社区，西面为港口社区，北面紧靠中顺大围。[2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

社区所在地是16世纪淤积而成的沙洲，名为羊蹄沙。1961年8月，这里设为中山县港口公社下的群众大队；铺锦于同年析出另设大队，群乐、苏份、马大丰则在1971年析出。[2][4]

1983年此地改称群众乡，归港口区管辖。博雅地名网的两页分别写作1983年与1984年2月，两说不一。1986年12月改为群众村民委员会，隶属港口镇。2001年，群众与铺锦两村合并为一个村民委员会，2002年3月改设群众社区居民委员会。[2][4]

人口民族[edit]

截至2024年1月，户籍人口6621人，共1685户；常住人口则约1.4万人。社区划分为25个居民小组。[2][3]

地理环境[edit]

面积约5.48平方千米，全境水网纵横，地形平坦。9条主要河涌合计约12.5公里长。社区驻地位于港口镇政府北面约0.5公里处，离中山市城区中心北约7公里。[2]

社会事业[edit]

社区办有两所幼儿园，即群众幼儿园与美加阳光幼儿园，此外有一所小学，名为群众小学。党群服务中心约1100平方米，里面还有人大代表联络站、居家养老服务站和退役军人服务站。[2]

社区新建了青年创业就业基地，并把原铺锦小学通过公开招标发包出去，改造成爱国主义教育基地。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，群众社区列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单；2021年12月，获认定为中山市绿色社区，认定年度为2021年。[1]

2022年10月，群众社区以水产养殖为主，被认定为「2022年广东省一村一品、一镇一业」专业村。社区此前还获得「广东省卫生村」「中山市宜居示范村庄」「广东省健康社区」等称号。[1][2]
