新前进村是坦洲镇西部的行政村，东北与三乡镇接壤，东面与永二村隔河相望，南面隔西灌河与群联村相邻，西与神湾镇接壤。[1][2]

村域总面积30.5平方千米，辖龙塘、申堂、枝埔、月环、宝山、沾涌、联石湾七个经济合作社。截至2023年底户籍人口5451人，常住人口约2.8万人。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

百度百科称，此村的渊源可上溯到明代洪武二年，新中国成立后行政建置屡有调整。[1]

新中国成立前此地属三洲乡管辖；1952年另立新前进乡。1958年改设前锋公社，直到1983年才重设新前进乡，1986年方改为村委会，名称延续至今。[3]

自然[edit]

村内林业面积超过3万亩，森林覆盖率65%，有铁炉山水库和海蚀遗址等生态保护区。[1]

经济[edit]

1990年代起，村里实施「筑巢引凤」策略，建成厂房13.3万平方米，聚集了皮革、电子等工业企业。[1]

文化[edit]

村里先后获得「广东省卫生村」「中山市宜居示范村庄」「中山市生态示范村」等称号。[2]
