沿革与名称[edit]
1995年3月，新明居委会设立。此后，中糖厂于2000年12月完成转制，此后由黄圃镇政府管辖，并设中糖居委会。2001年8月，两个居委会合并组成新糖社区居民委员会，沿用至今，名称取两地各一字。[1]
中山糖厂旧址[edit]
中山糖厂旧址位于社区新明南路173号，现在的中山市正业中糖实业有限公司厂区内。据百度百科，该厂1955年开工，1957年底投产。它最初约3万平方米，后来扩至12万平方米左右。[3]

博雅地名网称，社区总人口约3252人，管辖范围约2.7平方千米。社区内阳光假日小区有1686套单位，中山糖厂生活小区有59幢楼房，统计年份均未注明。[2]
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月，社区上榜2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；2022年11月，社区列为第二批中山市绿色社区（2022年度）。[1]
