大车村位于南朗街道西北部，东与西江里村相邻，西与关塘村相近，南邻贝外村，北面与火炬开发区相接[1]。南宋建炎元年（1127年），林小三自南雄珠玑巷迁来建村，村名取自故乡的村名[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

林小三（南宋建炎元年，即1127年）自南雄珠玑巷来此落户，因思念故乡而将村名定为大车[1]。

地理环境[edit]

村委会管辖的面积约为2146.5亩，耕地约430亩[1]。村子西北面的蒂峰山上建有清代古迹石仔庙，是本村的一处标志性景点[1]。

人口[edit]

2010年底，户籍1204人，计427户；农业人口为978人，外来人口有3840人[1]。

文化[edit]

村内保留清代林氏大宗祠。2007年，村会堂重建，楼高两层，占地1548平方米[2]。

著名人物[edit]

林继庸（1897—1985）是大车村人，1913年考入北京大学理工科预科，1920年赴美国学习化学[3]。
