龙穴村位于南朗街道东部，东边面对珠江口海面，村北与左步村相邻，龙穴沙丘曾出土新石器时代中晚期的文物[1][2]。

地理环境[edit]

村子东边面对珠江口海面，西侧是南朗安定村，南侧挨着泮沙村，北侧与左步村毗邻[1]。2005年，全村耕地2580亩，户籍364户，户籍居民1250人；全村总面积5.15平方公里[1]。

村内的自然村有边山、旧村、新村与鸡头角四处[2]。

历史沿革[edit]

边山自明宣德年间（1426年）有人定居，村史已有五百多年[2]。

考古与文物[edit]

20世纪80至90年代，省、市考古人员在龙穴沙丘发掘出距今约5000至5500年的新石器时代中晚期文物。1990年3月，龙穴遗址被定为市级文物保护单位[2]。
