榄边村位于南朗街道北部，东接濠涌村，西与大车村相邻，村内辖有六个自然村，分别为南塘、茶东、茶西、莆山、赤坎和西江里[1]。全村面积约9.98平方公里，村内的茶东陈氏宗祠群为全国重点文物保护单位[1][3]。

历史沿革[edit]

榄边村的名称来自古时海岸边生长的野榄树，建村历史超过600年，也有说法称有870年[3]。

1986年12月，南朗镇设立榄边村民委员会与南塘村民委员会；1998年8月两者仍称村委会；2001年11月，南塘并入榄边村[1]。

人口与经济[edit]

2005年，全村耕地2760亩，户籍974户、户籍居民3289人，流动人口2400人[2]。

文物古迹[edit]

茶东陈氏宗祠群为清代岭南风格的建筑，占地约3100平方米，是全国重点文物保护单位[3]。
