地理与历史[edit]
村地处大沙田地区，地势低洼，土地肥沃，过去常受台风洪水侵袭。新中国成立后，村民加固围堤、增设电力排灌设施，农业才有起色。[1]
2005年以后，村两委着力修建路桥与农田基础设施，完成村内40多公里主干农路与住宅涌边道路的硬底化。2008年至2010年，村建成标准农田示范区。[1]
人口与经济[edit]
博雅地名网记2013年全村总人口为4181人，此外另有暂住人口156人。[1]
农业以蔬菜、香蕉种植与四大家鱼养殖为主，花卉种植也已成规模。村内引进了无公害蔬菜出口基地、有机蔬菜基地、蔬菜配送基地与水产养殖出口基地。[1]
