沿革[edit]
据百度百科，1919年前后，番禺、顺德等地的移民迁来垦殖，逐渐形成村落。1935年，当地为东部一片村落拟名，取「平定安乐」之意，定为民平村。[2]
村内的保民社成立于1952年，每逢农历二月初二，村里举行土地诞祭拜与投灯仪式。[2]
地理与经济[edit]
博雅地名网称村域为488.60公顷（7239亩），其中耕地5300亩，水域312.3亩；百度百科则记面积4.5平方千米，两者相差较多，本文未作取舍。[1][2]
农业以蔬菜和果类为主，建有花卉与水果种植基地各一个，辖区内另有家私、粮油加工等企业。[1]
据百度百科，2002年村内建成一处巴西龟养殖基地，称为全国最大之一；2003年又建成香蕉全自动生产线。[2]
人口与交通[edit]

义仓公路与锦江公路分别由东至西、由南至北穿过村域，陆路交通便利。村内有育才小学，民众镇水利所也设在村内。[1]
