彩虹社区位于西区街道沙朗片区，西至105国道，东至裕富北路，南至北外环路，北至石特涌。社区因辖区内的彩虹大道得名，其前身可追溯到1986年12月成立的沙朗墟镇居委会[1][2]。

历史沿革[edit]

这里先在1986年12月设沙朗墟镇居委会，那时属沙朗镇，下设新中街、兴达街、卫康街与恒乐街四条街道。到了1999年8月，沙朗镇划入西区办事处，此地的居委会先称沙朗居委会。2002年12月，它改为沙朗社区居民委员会；2005年8月，才改名为彩虹居民委员会[2]。

人口与经济[edit]

博雅地名网概况页记，社区占地2.8平方公里，绿化率15%，辖22个住宅小区，户籍人口约7000人，流动人员约12000人，实际居住约30000人[3]。百度百科则说，社区常住约3.8万人，而户籍人口约2.2万人，两者相距甚远[1]。

辖区有4个专业市场和约70家小型工厂企业，规模以上工业企业为5家；社区内又有4所中小学、3所公办幼儿园，另有一座占地约5亩的彩虹公园[1]。社区党委下设24个党支部，党员277人；博雅地名网概况页则记为28个党支部、244名党员[1][3]。

荣誉[edit]

2018年7月，社区获评第七批全国民主法治示范村（社区）；2020年7月，本社区入选第六批广东省家庭文明建设示范点[1]。2021年12月，社区获中山市绿色社区认定[2]。
