烟洲社区位于西区街道南部，东临岐江河，南以富华道为界，西至中山汽车总站（富华总站），与长洲社区、后山社区相邻。社区因烟洲书院所在而得名[1][2]。

历史沿革[edit]

社区的居委会设立于1990年10月，前身是西苑居委会，当时改名为烟洲。2000年11月，西区撤销翠景居委会，并入烟洲居委会。2002年2月，西堤居委会撤销，其辖区分拆给西苑与烟洲两处。富华道以北原属烟洲与西堤的范围，于是组成今天的烟洲社区[3]。

博雅地名网记载，烟洲社区在2024年1月被确定为「2023年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」，2021年12月被认定为「2021年度中山市绿色社区」[2]。

人口与地域[edit]

百度百科称，社区面积约4.3平方千米，辖区内的物业居民小区有22个，流动人口为12000余人，常住人口则为34000余人[1]。
