西桠在火炬高技术产业开发区境内，属六和社区，位于岐关东路以南；2008年起，它定型为该社区下辖的小区。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

这里在明代嘉靖年间（1522—1566年）已有村落，最初称西溪，后因位于小隐涌西面的分叉处而改名。明清时属得能都，民国时划入第四区的尚武乡。[1]

人物与宗族[edit]

村子是前中山县长朱卓文的故里。清末民初，村中走出了四位外交官；据百度百科所载，中国第一位女飞行员朱慕飞也出自此村。全村共有22个姓氏，以朱、洪、阮三姓居多。朱氏靠围垦起家，成为村中的大族；村里的清代朱家祠堂等老建筑，仍保存着宗族的遗迹。[1]
