茂生村是火炬开发区下辖的行政村。它在开发区东南，离区管委会约10千米；东面是马安村，南面是南朗镇的华照村，西面是珊洲村，北面则是民众镇的民裕村。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
这里原是清朝中叶淤积出来的滩地，同治初年（1862年）才有人家定居。村名来自所筑的围，因土地肥沃，围名取为「茂生」。[1]
地理与经济[edit]
村子临着横门水道口的南岸，依山傍海，呈U字形散布。过去靠农业与渔业为生，村中出产的茂生香蕉曾入选「中山特产」。如今以工业为主，有工业园区，集体收入主要来自物业与土地出租。[1]
