新鳌岭社区位于东区东南部，成立于2005年5月。社区名由“新”“鳌”“岭”三字组成，分别取自新村、小鳌溪、大鳌溪与紫马岭等地名。[1][2]

社区辖下有新村、大鳌溪、小鳌溪、紫马岭四个经联社，另有和景花园、翠逸居两个住宅小区。[2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

大鳌溪、小鳌溪两个经联社原属长江管理区与环城区，均于1988年6月划归东区；新村经联社原属环城区。[3]

人口与区域[edit]

社区面积为6.67平方千米；常住人口为4785人（男性2318人，女性2467人），流动人口则有8600多人。[2][3]

百度百科的口径不同：社区辖区面积约4.19平方千米，常住人口约2.1万人（为2025年12月的数字），户籍人口约1.3万人。[1]

辖区设有学校、卫生站和信用社，并有市场、老人活动中心，以及篮球场与健身广场。[2][3]

社区内有紫马岭的「香山八景」之一「天池芰荷」故址。[3]

荣誉[edit]

据百度百科，社区曾获「全国敬老模范社区」「广东省文明社区」等称号。[1]

2021年12月，社区被认定为「2021年度中山市绿色社区」；2024年1月，被确定为「2023年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」。[2]
