建村与地名[edit]
据百度百科，清道光三年（1823年）已有聚落在此形成，最初叫南面洲寮，后因治安好转才定名护安围。该村是市革命老区之一。[4]

政府网站称，村内辖下5个村民小组，村中主要道路有环城北路、莞潢路与三塘路。村内规模以上企业11家，代表企业包括「东莞东美食品有限公司」「东莞市烨晟塑料有限公司」「东莞市木林森包装科技有限公司」和「东莞市金富亮塑胶科技有限公司」。[1]
