三涌村位于中堂镇东部，北临东江，与增城十字滘隔江相望，村名与村前三条河涌的交汇有关。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
立村之时，人们把附近几个村落合起来，统称为三涌。村前有三条小河涌交汇，河水便于饮用、灌溉和运输，这是取名的缘由。[1]
行政建制几经变动：1953年它隶属三湛乡，1983年设为三涌乡，1987年改为管理区，直到1999年才成为三涌村委会。[1]
地理与人口[edit]
三保大桥1993年9月建成通车，村民由此过河去莞城，路程约10.7千米。北王公路和南潢公路自东向西穿过村境，全村面积3.5平方千米。[1]
外来人口1305人，户籍人口3662人（博雅地名网所载为2006年数字）。全村分为6个村民小组。[1]
