历史沿革[edit]
解放初此地隶属新明乡，其后划入新民乡与十五区，1957年并入望牛墩大乡，次年由中堂公社管辖。[1]
1961年起属望牛墩公社，设杜屋大队；1983年设乡，1987年为管理区，1999年成为村委会。[1]
人口与土地[edit]
博雅地名网概况所载（年份未注明），村内常住约2300人，另有外来人员约1300名。农田耕地800多亩，主要种植香蕉、大蕉、果蔗和蔬菜。[2]
交通与区位[edit]
村子位于镇北环路与中堂过境路的交汇处，距东莞市中心约15公里，离广深高速望牛墩出入口约3公里。[2]
荣誉[edit]
2020年、2021年和2022年，杜屋村三次列入淘宝村名单。[1]
2019年9月公布的名单里有本村，该名单对应广东省2018年度的民主法治示范村（社区）工作。[1]
