望牛墩镇是广东省东莞市下辖的镇，位于东莞市西北部、东江下游，东边紧挨万江街道，西边与麻涌镇隔界相望，南边连着洪梅镇，北边靠近中堂镇。全镇辖1个社区和21个行政村，截至2025年底总面积31.6平方千米。[1][5]
历史沿革[edit]
望牛墩一带始建于宋代，相传宋末已有村落立于此地，以牧牛之地得名。[3][5] 明代属东莞县延福乡第十三都，清代乾隆年间以后归中堂司管辖。[4][5]
1944年，这一带分属第六区下的望溪、乌涌、马沥、治明四个乡；1948年两两合并为望联乡与沥明乡，仍属第六区。1949年后这里先隶属第八区，其中一些乡划入麻涌区，另一些乡则留在中堂一侧。[4]
1957年此地组成望牛墩大乡，1958年并入中堂公社。博雅地名网镇页记1959年9月自中堂公社析出，设望牛墩公社；其村页则记1961年归望牛墩公社，两说不同，此处以镇页为准。[2][4]
1983年撤公社设望牛墩区；1987年撤区改镇。博雅地名网作1987年，百度百科作1986年撤区建镇，此处两说并存。[4][5]
1945年4月，望角一带发生望角之仗，东江纵队的一支中队在此对敌作战，当地民兵亦有牺牲。[10]
地理环境[edit]
广深高速公路、107国道与东莞环城路等在镇境内交汇，广深高速公路在镇内设有望牛墩出入口。[2]
人口[edit]
据镇政府网站，截至2025年底全镇常住人口约9万人，户籍人口5.9万人。[1] 第七次全国人口普查时，2020年末常住人口为8.63万人。[6] 博雅地名网所载户籍人口为4.46万人，与政府所载不同，此处取政府数字。[3]
经济[edit]
2025年全镇地区生产总值122.5亿元，同比增长3.9%；其中第二产业约79.4亿元，第三产业约42.7亿元，第一产业仅0.4亿元。2024年的地区生产总值为120.89亿元。[1][5]
工业方面，2025年全镇新增国家级“小巨人”企业2家，省级专精特新企业21家，高新技术企业23家，有26家企业完成数字化转型。[1]
村级集体经济方面，2025年村组两级总资产为36.7亿元，16个消薄村全部摘帽。[1]
镇域经济的排名也见于多家机构的榜单：2023年列全国综合实力千强镇第294位，2025年列全国千强镇第293位；2020年至2022年连续三年入选淘宝镇名单。[2][5]

据百度百科，望牛墩被列为中国乞巧文化之乡；镇内的七夕贡案《仙凡缘》获中国民间文艺「山花奖」。[5]
七夕文化公园位于文阁桥旁，2011年5月动工建设，占地约4500平方米，以鹊桥相会和七夕民俗为主线，园内设有七夕贡案广场、许愿树广场等景点。[7]
2025年，镇里举办了七夕之夜、端阳龙舟竞渡等活动，其中七夕之夜被省文明办纳入当年的七夕主题示范活动名录。[1]
社会事业与治安[edit]
据镇政府网站，2025年全镇排查整改安全生产隐患一万一千余项，全年没有发生较大以上的生产安全事故，全市安全生产指数居首。同年，违法犯罪警情与诈骗关联警情分别同比减少23%和44.4%。[1]
教育方面，望牛墩中学的中考成绩稳居镇街前列。公立诊疗机构2025年累计接诊超过42万人次，城镇当年新增就业超过1600人。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
望角革命烈士纪念碑在望角村，由望牛墩人民公社革命委员会于1967年4月修建，碑身为混凝土结构，高约4.6米。[8]
著名人物[edit]
伦明（1875—1944），字哲如，东莞望牛墩人，是近代的藏书家和版本目录学者，1901年（清光绪二十七年）考中举人。他先后在北京的多所高校任教，藏书楼名为「续书楼」，晚年把大部分藏书捐给北平图书馆。[9][1]
