东太村是广东省东莞市麻涌镇下辖的行政村，位于镇的中心区，由东村、东浦、九宅、太和四条自然村组成，南接大步村，北与新基村相邻。[1][3]

镇政府栏目称全村面积约4.84平方千米，2023年户籍人口5278人，外来暂住人口12722人。博雅地名网则记面积5.2平方千米，常住4297人，流动人员六百余人，未注年份。两者口径不同，本条并存。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

镇政府栏目称，明代洪武元年（1368年）时，东村仍属番禺十五屯管辖，东浦、九宅、太和则归东莞中堂司所辖。[3]

新中国成立前，太和、东浦、九宅三村归中堂区，东村则属番禺县十五屯。1949年10月，四个自然村合并为东太，编入东莞县第八区的漳步乡；1953年成为第十四区下的东太乡。合作社创办于1954年。1958年改称麻涌公社东太营，1960年成为东太大队，1983年设东太乡政府，1987年改管理区，1999年定为村委会。[1][4]

基础设施[edit]

村内1100米长的进村公路把四条自然村连接起来，并建成村民住宅新区，改变了分散聚居的状况。镇政府栏目称，村内交通已形成东西南北互通的路网，佛莞城际轨道的建设也提供了便利。[1][2]

人物与文化[edit]

莫福生（1916年至2003年）是东太村人，曾用名莫建田、莫少泉。镇政府栏目还列出革命老干部陈一虹、国家一级作家陈永康为本村人。[2][3]

近代粤剧文武生靓少华，原名陈伯均，生于清光绪二十七年（1901年），是东村人。镇政府栏目称，东太村的粤剧曲艺社曾由他影响带动，1993年重新组织成立东太曲艺中心。[3]

荣誉[edit]

镇政府栏目列出的荣誉有「广东省卫生村」「东莞市市容环境优美村」「东莞市生态村」「东莞市体育先进村」「东莞市科普标兵社区」「东莞市文明村」以及「珠三角最美乡村」。[3]
