西太隆村是沙田镇下辖的行政村，位于莞城西南约25千米处，总面积约4.2平方千米。村子东面和北面与厚街镇接壤，西面隔淡水湖与民田村的泗沙相望，南邻义沙村。村政府网站称，全村共17806人，户籍2455人，外来人口15351人。村内设6个村民小组。[1]

据百度百科，村子的前身可追溯至清末民初，1958年为西大隆生产大队，1999年改设西太隆村委会。[3]

历史与耕地[edit]

早先耕地约有4800亩，作物以水稻、甘蔗和香蕉为主，也有柑桔。博雅地名网所载，至2017年底，因工业化与建设需要已征用土地2504.5亩，剩余耕地约2115亩，多出租作菜地。[1][2]

村政府网站称，2025年底时，耕地仍有约1900亩，其中蔬菜约1200亩，鱼塘250亩，甘蔗20亩。[1]

村内现有工厂316家，产业以电子设备、制鞋、塑胶、五金和皮具制品为主。产业园的规划工业用地为115公顷，居住及保障性住房用地约12.15公顷；百度百科称该园区于2024年启动建设。[1][3]

交通与商业[edit]

环保路与明珠路完成升级改造后，村内的交通路网进一步优化。村内有超市、农贸市场和休闲公园，中心路一带形成了商业街区。[1]

文化设施[edit]

2025年沙田镇政府工作报告提出，要重建西太隆村的综合性文化服务中心。[4]
