大泥村是沙田镇下辖的行政村，位于镇的中部，东与义沙村、稔洲村隔湖相望，西与穗丰年村相连，南与齐沙村相邻，北靠民田村。全村面积4.9平方千米，耕地941亩，下辖7个原自然村和13个村民小组。村政府网站称户籍人口2218人，外来人口约25000人。[1]

村名的由来，百度百科称，村域原为浅海，后经海水冲积成为土丘，村子建在较大的一座土丘上，因而得名。1950年村里成立大坭农业合作社，1999年改为大泥村委会，沿用至今。[3]

大泥村的建置经历了多次变动：1950年成立农业合作社，此后历经几次行政调整，1999年改为村委会。[3]

地理与交通[edit]

沙田大道沿村穿过约6千米，沙田大道、滨港路、明珠路、进港南路等主干道在村域内纵横交错。村子毗邻虎门港，交通便利，所有道路均已硬底化。[1][2]

村政府网站所载，全村有大小企业202家，出租屋848栋。百度百科引用的2024年12月数据则为户籍人口2168人、大小企业232家，与村政府网站的数字有差异，数据年份也不同。村组两级资产总额约1.65亿元，总收入约2339万元，也是2024年12月的数字。[1][3]
