杨公洲村是沙田镇下辖的行政村，在镇域西南一带，东侧是厚街镇，西侧临东江南支流，隔江与道滘镇相望，南面是横流社区。全村面积4.45平方千米，分为12个村民小组，村政府网站称全村常住人口约1.4万人。[1][3]

村名的来历，百度百科称源于百年前厚街一座庙宇的庙主杨氏所管辖的地方。村内工业发达，洲尾、泗洲两大工业区聚集了鞋材、智能厨房设备、家具和制衣等企业。2019年，村子获评全国减灾示范社区。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

沙田镇政府的沿革记载，约二百年前，厚街的军铺人在杨公洲一带筑围造田，此后水上疍民与外来农户陆续定居。[4]

博雅地名网的村情记载，2017年村内户籍2090人、717户，村党工委下设三个支部，共有党员87名。小学于2006年9月并入沙田中心小学。[2]

经济与设施[edit]

村内原有大片耕地和鱼塘，种植香蕉与甘蔗。工业用地征用后，村里保留了约1873亩农田保护区。村内有企业集中的工业区，产业涉及制衣、鞋业、塑胶五金、玻璃制品与运动器材。[2][3]

村内有一所民办学校和一所民办幼儿园，建有综合文化服务中心、老年人活动中心与篮球场等设施。港口大道与滨江路贯通全村，对外交通便利。[1]

荣誉[edit]

村政府网站称，村子2019年获评全国减灾示范社区，2021年获评广东省民主法治示范村，并获得广东省卫生村称号。[1]
