横流社区是沙田镇下辖的社区，1984年成立，位于镇的中心区域，面积约1.8平方千米。社区下辖育才、怡景、庄士、湖东、湖西、勒仔围六个居民小组。村政府网站称，社区户籍1150户、3582人，此外还有8000余名常住人口。[1]

社区的前身是横流镇。1986年，横流被改为管理区；1998年又设立居委会；直到2005年，才使用现名。[3]

经济与基础设施[edit]

社区没有土地资源，集体经济的收入主要来自出租厂房。博雅地名网所载的2017年数字，社区集体总收入904万元，纯收入432万元。百度百科称，2024年前后社区集体资产规模约7500万元，每年集体总收入平均约1000万元。[1][2][3]

社区交通方便，滨江路、沙田大道、沿江高速和进港北路等干道贯穿其中。辖区内商铺与服务网点密集，有中心幼儿园、社区卫生服务站、文化活动中心和龙舟公园。[1]

社区的网格化管理分为三块，每块都有专职管理员；第三块获评东莞市「智网工程」三星示范网格。[1]
