双岗社区位于广东省东莞市厚街镇西北部，面积4.2平方千米，包括上环、中环、下环和官美厦四个自然村。明朝时立村。[1]

地名由来[edit]

相传此地原为大海，后淤成荒滩，滩上有两座小山，名为「鹰管山」与「螺仔山」，「双岗」之名由此而来。[1]

产业沿革[edit]

早年以种水稻、水草为主，手工业以草制品为大宗，远销各地。1983年后，草田逐步改种香蕉，村民也开始做家具，初销广东各地。20世纪90年代中期起，陆续有中型与大型家具厂建成。1995年开辟了长约5千米的「家具大道」，使家具企业更加集中。[1]

革命遗址[edit]

1942年至1943年，「广东人民抗日游击总队」借用双岗村一带的草田草寮，连续举办多期军政干部培训班。地点在官美厦附近，即今广东国际展览中心一带。[2]
