地名由来[edit]
社区一带原是珠江河边的滩涂，盛产蠔，村名先称「白蠔」。东江带来泥沙，滩涂淤积成良田。因「蠔」与「濠」读音相近，后改称「白濠」。[1][2]
历史与文化[edit]
立村时社区内建有多座宗祠。社区内有一株古木棉和一株细叶榕，列为东莞市古树名木，树龄近百年。[1][2]
社区内建有白濠小学、体育公园、图书馆、老人活动中心，灯光球场十余个。篮球赛、广场舞、节日汇演与书画展等活动常年不断，居民自发组织的娱乐社、粤乐社与书画社也日益增多。[1]
