三屯社区坐落于广东省东莞市厚街镇北部，紧挨S256省道，北侧以东莞大道和广深高速公路为界，南侧通往镇中心区，全境面积4.5平方千米。[1]

地名由来[edit]

据社区介绍，一支南下工作队（俗称「两广中队」）下基层时，见江中上下有两个土墩，加上陆地上的一个，又有一片田，取其「有水有田」的寓意，称此地为「三屯」。主要姓氏有尹、曾、郑、欧，其中尹姓人数最多。[1]

建制沿革[edit]

新中国成立初期，此地属赤墩乡，所辖包括三屯、宝屯、赤岭、陈屋、上下栅与陈家祠。1963年自赤墩乡分出时叫三屯大队；1984年大队撤销，改立三屯乡；1987年转为管理区，直到1999年6月才定名三屯村。该村下辖企山头、沙岗厦、上屯、伦品涌四个自然村，共七个村民小组。[1]
